Uriel Posada is a 5-time Emmy award-winning journalist, news director, activist, and influencer whose ability to captivate his audience is a true testament to his passion and love for his community, the Borderland.
Posada was born in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. At the age of 15, he and his family migrated to El Paso, and soon after he began attending El Paso High school. After graduating from high school, he then attended the University of Texas at El Paso where he obtained his B.A. in Electronic Media.

After graduation, Posada started his journalism career working as a reporter for KLUZ Univision Alburquerque. He then returned to El Paso, where he worked for region 19 ESC Head Start as head of Public Relations. In 2002, he moved to Denver Colorado to work as a News Producer for Univision Denver where he was responsible for all newsroom editorial assignments and content. In 2006, he moved to Sacramento, California where he worked as an Executive Producer and Interim news director for KUVS O&O Univision.
From 2006 to 2010, Posada was the Executive Director of an Emmy Award-winning political news show called “Voz y Voto.” The show was the only Spanish-speaking political news show in California. In 2010, he was recruited to be the first News Director for the newly created Telenoticias El Paso channel. In 2012, he earned his M.A in Latin American and Border Studies. Today Posada is currently the Regional News Director for Noticias 26 El Paso, where he oversees news operations for the El Paso region including parts of West Texas, New Mexico, and Santa Fe.
Posada has served in several nonprofit organizations. Currently, he is serving as a board member for the Border AIDS Partnership, an organization that focuses assisting nonprofit organizations in El Paso, Juarez, and Las Cruces area who are helping in the fight against AIDS. He just recently became a board member for the United way of El Paso. He previously served as the past President for the Public Relation Association of Southwest, and he served as board member at the Center Against Family and Sexual Violence and the Susan G. Komen El Paso foundation.
Apart from being an award-winning journalist, you can sometimes catch Posada performing for Viva El Paso (2015-2018). Viva El Paso is a musical that has been running for the past 42 years that tells the story of El Paso through singing, dancing, and acting. This exciting production is hosted at the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheater. Posada has a lifelong love of dance. Posada is also the owner and president of Paso Del Norte Magazine, a Spanish online local news-based magazine which he uses as a creative outlet. He has a podcast on the magazine’s website called “Noticiando” that covers major news items of interest. Another creative outlet for Posada is his successful TikTok channel which he started four months ago; his channel recently hit 17,000 followers. Today, Posada continues to take both the newsroom and TikTok by storm.

Posada’s creativity has fostered his work and volunteerism in many sectors-- from the arts, to journalism, to social justice-- showcasing how LGBTQ individuals are often broadly engaged in their communities. His ability to lead with both integrity and persistence explains how he is able to capture both the audience's attention and hearts.
